Sammie and her 2 babies

Sammie loves her brother-but she also loves her other baby--Baucula--don't ask.
She loves this doll (who is obviously supposed to be a boy but she refuses to have a boy baby).
Today she was sharing her baby with Cole-it was a first and was cracking me up. She was making them hold hands and wanted me to take pictures of it all.
Everyday brings new opportunities to laugh out loud with my kids!

Also notice-Cole is going to be outgrowing Sammie very soon. Today we went to the doctor to get a flu shot and they weighed him...20lbs10oz!!!! Yowza!

Worn out

Today when Cole woke up from his afternoon nap we went outside for some fresh air and I guess he got too warm and comfy because he totally zonked out. It was so cute. His eyes would droop shut then a couple seconds later he'd look up to make sure I was still there. I guess it was really relaxing in the warm sun with no older sister talking in his ear (she was taking a nap of her own-woo hoo!)
I can't believe how quiet my house is when they are both asleep---ah---peace!

Green Thumbs

Peter and Sammie spent the weekend building and planting our Spring garden. This has been something Peter's been talking about for a while and the weather has been so perfect (in the upper 70's!) Sammie had a blast doing this project with daddy...granted anything is fun with daddy:)

Step one-
Dig out a space for the garden and wheelbarrow the keystones across the yard. Of course Sammie and Cole had to go for a few rides!

Step 2-
Put in the dirt. Mix it around and make it nice a flat...sort of!

Step 3-
Plant the seeds...Samantha's favorites...sunflowers! They also planted straberries, jalepenos, carrots, corn, peas, tomatoes and zucchini. Hopefully something will grow or it's going to be pretty anticlimactic to water the garden everyday!

Step 4-
Water the plants...with a bucket, hose, watering can or whatever you can get your little hands on!

Double Trouble Bathtub Style

This says it all....

Now that Cole is sitting up so well he gets to take fun baths with his sister in the big bathtub. He loves it. And of course big sister Sammie is there to help pour water on any and all body parts! Sorry buddy-that's your life!

Teething Essentials

Tylenol-check. Wet washcloth-check. Teeth-check!

Cole is in full-blown teething-o-rama. Everything gets chewed on, licked or eaten. Yesterday we were feeding him carrots while we were having dinner and I guess I wasn't feeding him fast enough because I looked over and he was trying to chew the tray of his highchair! Wish I had gotten that picture!

Tylenol-good for pain relief.

Tylenol-good for chewing!

Cole loves getting his face cleaned

after eating because he knows he gets
to chew on the washcloth when we're done!

Look close-

you can see his pearly whites!!!

Busy little big boy

Cole can now sit up unassisted. It's a whole new world for him now! He still topples over, but he's learning.
He also got his second tooth yesterday! He has been a very busy little guy. Every day he is a new man...we can't wait to see what tomorrow brings...

Just to prove he is not ALWAYS smiling!!!

Valenstine's Day...

That's what Sammie calls it...Valens-tine's Day! Pretty cute. We made homemade Valentine's for Daddy and Cole yesterday. She was so excited that I bought her scissors and actually did a pretty good job using them. She loves anything artsy-surprise surprise!
Happy Valenstine's Day!

A Long Day

Sammer has a little cold and so we were inside...all day...all 3 of us! The day went well--lots of liquids, lots of TV, a long nap, lots of Kleenex and then 4:30 came around and we were all a little stir crazy. It was time for some fresh air. Yes, she's in jammies-a sweater-her dress up "ballet" shoes as she calls them-and a hat that her nana made her! A little fresh air goes a long way.

I think she looks a lot like her brother with this expression!

I had to capture the whole ensemble!

Check out my cute hat-"mommy-can you see me?"

Give me the food and nobody gets hurt

Cole gets really excited about his food so I set his banana, apple, pears on his highchair and he tried to break it open. I have to be really conscious NOT to set any open food on his chair because he can now reach it and on a couple occasions has dumped it down the front of himself and tried to eat the bowl. Our little piggy!
