When Mom's Away

So Meagan abandoned us for a few days to get some well deserved rest. Unfortunately that means that one of the kids is going to get hurt. I think someone needs to sell a protective bubble for just such occasions because kids certainly don't want Daddy when they are hurt. Only Mommy has the special touch to make owies go away. Samantha decided to practice her falling skills and scraped her knee. She has refused to walk for 2 days now. I've tried every bribe to get her to walk and she just won't do it. In an attempt to cheer her up (and to keep my own sanity: I can only watch Dora so much), I took her and Cole to the zoo. Cole loved it and Sammie just rested in the stroller while Cole chased the monkeys around. Come home soon Mommy!

More Farm...

Here are some more great pics of the kiddos at the farm. Great day. Great friends. Great memories made...

Getting ready for a picnic lunch.

Our little punkins.

I love Cole's face in this one!

Cole at the farm...

His first ride on a carousel...the guy in charge
wouldn't let me put him on one that moved! Cole
wasn't so sure how to feel about this whole thing.

Pumpkins!!!

I can get it.

Got it.

Dirt, one of my faves.

Sammie at the farm...

Trying the ride the trike..the pedals were too far to reach!

Sammie actually rode a pony!!!

Picking just the right pumpkin.

This is the one!

Schnepff Farm

Today we went to Schnepff Farm with our friends the Olimbs. It was quite a drive, but well worth it. We rode the train, had a fun picnic lunch, picked pumpkins, Sammie went through a maze with Daddy, visited the petting zoo, played at the playground, rode tricycles, and Sammie rode a pony!!! It was a very fun morning.
But, it was hot. And the last 10 minutes were brutal. Hot and dusty tired kids. They napped all the way home and woke up the minute we pulled in to our driveway. Early bedtime tonight...at least for Mommy and Daddy!
I WILL post more pictures, but I had to get some up! Thanks for more fun memories Jeremy, Rachel and Asher!

Mr. Independent

Cole has decided it is time to grow up and take eating into his own hands, or utensils!
He has now figured out how to work his fork, sort of.
It's great. He gets so proud of himself and Sammie even cheers him on!

Crafty craftersons

Today Maura, Maggie and Melissa came over for some Halloween crafts. We made pumpkin masks, handprint bats, egg carton spiders and cotton ball ghosts. The girls were SO excited and loved getting craty together. Cole and Maggie even joined in and had a great time.
Thanks for the fun morning West ladies!

Sammie painting her mask.

Hand #1 he enjoyed, hand #2 not so much.

Black, batty hands!

Of course we had a little break to dress up!

Our little pumpkins:)
