It's been a long time...

So I have been slackin on the posts...so much going on.
Sunday Sammie got her haircut...short! It is adorable. It reminds me of when she was really little. She likes it-so that's a plus:)
Yesterday started Sammie's first day of Vacation Bible School. She was so excited yesterday morning. She woke up at 6:00 and asked if it was time to go. And then continued to ask until 8:40 when we finally left! One of her BFF's Maura is in her class with her. They go from 9:00-12:00. That's a long time!!! I was nervous about how she'd do and my worries were not neccessary. Her teacher said she did great and had a blast. It'll be a fun week for her, and Cole will appriciate some one on one time with mommy (and daddy---yesterday they spent the whole day together pretty much:)
Then, after naps yesterday Samantha informed Peter that it was time for his truck to get a bath-so he dragged out all of the essentials for a home car wash and Samantha helped him for about 10 minutes (enough time for me to get some pics-ha!) then came inside and left him out there to do all the work. Sorry daddy! A girl's gotta rest.
Here's to a super fun week!

Enjoying a cone with Maura after school yesterday.
(the first ice cream cone she's ever eaten!!! hence the picture!)

Let's clean that truck.

Shindiggity 2009 Redux

Well, it's a little late, but here's video from our awesome Abby Cadabby Shindiggity. (In my [Peter] defense, editing video takes a lot of computer memory and blogger does not appreciate huge HD videos being uploaded to it; thus it's grainy look. It took me awhile before I resigned myself to non-HD.) Thanks for a great party everyone!

O Happy Day

Cole is now trying so hard to pull himself up onto everything. He has some serious upper body strength considering he still army crawls. He also loves loves loves his bathtime. He puts in face in the water and takes a drink-it's gross, but makes us think maybe he'll take to swimming quicker than his sister:)
Tonight we went out for pizza...Sammie wanted to be "fancy" so she put on a dress, stick-on earing and brought her purse. She told the waitress, " I would like a cheese pizza with sprinkle cheese, I mean parmesean." It was so cute. Thanks for the book on restaurant manners Grammie-Samantha was talking about her manners the whole time tonght!:) She pretended that Cailou ( a tv charactar) came to dinner with us and was teaching him all about manners. So precious!

i'm up!

this is great!

check out his little jack'o lantern teeth!

What's goin on

Here are our highlights from the week...

I heard Samantha giggling from the table and when I asked what was so funny she said, "Mommy Cole has a puff stuff on his face!" She could hardly get it out she was laughing so hard!

Peter performed reconstructive surgery on a Raggedy Ann doll. Samantha was his scrub nurse.

Samantha really likes wearing her daddy's goggles. Last night she wore them for her bath-it was pretty entertaining. It's very hard to take someone serious when they are wearing oversized goggles!

Our garden is blooming...remember the garden Peter and Sammie planted together. This is the first Sunflower to bloom. We also have growing: carrots, peas, zucchini, tomatoes, and peppers. Hopefully they will all have fruit.

Sentimental

I am feeling sentimental and nostalgic today for some reason. I think it has been hitting me lately that my little Sammie is not so little anymore. Every day I hear "I can do it myself". It makes me stop sometimes and sometimes shocks me the things she actually can do on her own. She is such a kid now it's crazy. She has such a personality-Monday we went to Scottsdale to run some errands and she said in the car, "Mommy, is this Scottsdale?" I said yes and she said, "Scottsdale is wonderful!" Mind you--we were just driving through-nothing exciting-funny!
I love you Sammer jammer-you're my lovebug. I'm so glad that I get to be your mommy.
