Sammie's 4th birthday

Last Sunday we had Sammie's big 4th birthday bash at Tumbleweed, one of our favorite parks. It was cute that Sammie actually requested that park-made me laugh.We had tons of family and friends come out to celebrate and were so glad they did.

It was a beautiful day and we really couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in another year for Samantha.

Some highlights: Samantha riding her bike with friends, blowing out her candles, telling me it was her best birthday ever, watching all of the kids whack the pinata (which Sammie broke open with the very first swing!), visiting with family and good friends, hearing about the underdog performed by the Olimb crew (too bad I missed it), Vivian (my cousin's little girl) asking me how I knew her name, and the look on Samantha's face as she opened her presents---sheer joy!

We can't believe we already have a four year old on our hands. Time has flown by and we are excited to see what this year will bring.

Sweet stuff

Yesterday was cupcake day...I baked about 50 cupcakes for Sammie's bday party. Of course I had my little helpers...well-lickers!

Spring has sprung

Spring is here and the weather has been wonderful!!! Today we met up with some friends to play at the park. It was a great morning. I haven't been to this park in a a while...the last time we went Cole was barely stable on his feet. What a difference. He was ALL over the park-chasing birds ( I think he learned this from his good friend Asher!), running around in the grass, climbing and generally having a good time. Samantha rode her bike, flew her new dora kite and played with her friends. All in all, a great way to spend a morning.

Birthday girl for a day

Today at preschool Sammie had her school party. I got to bring in cookies and read a story to her class. Cole even got to come! He loves her school so it was pretty funny to see him sitting there with all the kiddos.
My favorite memories: seeing Samantha's gigantic smile when I dropped her off this morning and her teacher told her she got to make her crown. And, after cookies the kids went out to the playground where there was a little boy from another class who just fell in love with Cole. He kept telling everyone that Cole was his little brother! His teacher later told me--he has no little brother-ha! So funny.
