Today

Just another day in the life...here's what we've been up to.

When is it not fun to twirl???

Daddy built us this awesome swing...
we both hate it and won't go near
it...this was the only minute of fame it
got!!! Sorry Daddy-A for effort.

Enjoying a picnic this morning in Sammie's room.

Good day for a drive

Today we decided it was a good day to explore. So we loaded up the car and headed up to Cave Creek to the Rio Verde river. We packed a picnic and were on our way. We enjoyed all of the wildflowers along the way--mostly yellow and purple. Sammie was a little sad there was not much red! The hills were covered in yellow flowers..I really should have taken a picture-oops!
The river was so full we couldn't believe it...we even saw an otter!!! That was the excitement of the day. Then we skipped some rocks, fished with reeds and had our picnic. Then, we snoozed all the way home (at least the kids and I did!) It was a beautiful way to spend an Arizona spring day!

Picking out rocks to throw in.

Getting a lesson in skipping rocks. Peter has

got the touch! I was much better when I was
about 10!

Hangin out.
I love her face, "Sorry Mom, I don't know what to
tell you!"

Fishin.
"Cheese".
Talkin with Daddy.
One of my new faves...gazing up at
Daddy.
He really amuses himself. It's funny.
BTW, 2 seconds later he was crying?!

New jammies & a haircut!

This morning we were out and about and found some new jammies. Now I don't know about everyone else's kids, but my kids (at least Sammer) love wearing and getting jammies. Sammie picked out a purple castle nightgown that says, "Daddy's Princess" and Cole chose Doggy footies. Now, for those of you who aren't familiar with Cole...he will NOT sit in a cart or stroller so he and Samantha were walking through Kohls holding hands...very cute. (They did also play a little hide and seek in the clothing racks...we won't get into that!) But when it came time to choose jammies they were ready. They were both very excited to sport their new digs tonight-maybe they are magical pajamas that will make them sleep in?

Later in the day Sammie went with me to get her haircut. I have never taken her with me to my girl Holly before. She loved it. She got her hair washed in the fun sink, sat in the big chair and got her hair blown dry...which they don't do at great clips let me tell you! It was great. She was so patient while I got my hair done..she just sat there and watched, ate some goldfish, colored and mostly just listened in on our conversation. It was a fun girly thing to do together! I can't wait til she's bigger and we can go have spa weekends..why just a day I say?! Ha!

Pic#1:Make a sweet smile.
Pic#2:Make a cute smile.
(I didn't know there was a difference!)

Pic#1:Where are your jammies?
Pic#2:Where's your smile?'
I love how he's holding his smile!!!

The Hegarty hunt

Our good friends, the Hegartys, were so kind to invite us over yesterday afternoon for dinner, another hunt and some fun. The kids had a blast hunting eggs in their HUGE yard. And, apparently the Easter bunny really loves them because he brought a LOT of eggs!!!
Then some yummy food and play, play, play!
Thanks Hegartys for the wonderful Easter-you guys are the best!
And when I asked Samantha what her favorite part of the day was as I was tucking her in..."finding eggs with Ana"--so sweet!

Get ready....

Cole was a pro!

Look at me!

Checking out their loot.

Of course there was football.
And a small chat in the wagon.
Wagon rides!!! The night ended with the daddies
pulling the girls around.

Happy Easter

We had a beautiful Easter yesterday. Woke up to a house full of eggs for the kids to find...which they did. Cole was so excited and once he put it together that the eggs had candy it was nonstop "more, more."
Church was out on the lawn, a great way to celebrate--but it was a but warm!!! Church and a tan I say!
We had no plans the rest of the day so we ended up going out to lunch-whiuch turned out to be wonderful because nobody was out! We had the whole place to ourselves practically. Then home to do some work and over to friends for dinner (that will be a separate blog!)
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter with your families.
