Cabin in the woods

This weekend we went up to Grandpa's cabin in Prescott. We have gone up before but never for a whole weekend. The last time we tried Sammie was Cole's age and WOULD NOT sleep. Not in the pack'n play, not in the bed, not anywhere so we ended up packing it up and driving home in the middle of the night and I was done.
Well, happy to say, this time was nothing like that. Kids slept great (they were up with the sun at 5:00-but slept!), played with cousins, went for rides on Gpa's mule (vehicle-not animal!!!) We had a fabulous time and plan on spending some serious time up there this summer.
Some highlights: Sammie and Cole going on rides in the mule, seeing Sammer play with her cousins Maddy and Vivian, Cole looking for bears in the forest, hikes, finding lizards, listening to Sammie snore all night long, hunting pinecones, and looking at the night sky in complete darkness.
I hope that we can create some great memories for Sammie and Cole. I have such great memories of playing up at my grandparents cabin, playing with cousins, family dinners, riding horses, good times.

Mr. Chill

So for those of you who know my son well, you know that he has a love affair with his favorite tennies. He has refused to wear any other shoe we put on his feet. Seriously-crying, anger, not pretty. Well, summer is coming and he just can't wear tennies on 115 degrees. Here he is at the pool in his new flip flops...that he'll actually wear! I am going to RUN back to Target and get a couple more pair!!! Thanks Target, you're always there for me when I am in a bind.
Cole loves the pool too...and he's pretty hilarious in the water. But his favorite part-the lounge chairs. It's true-boy after my heart!

Sammie the fish

Samantha is a little fish these days. I can't get her out of the pool...not even for snacks!!! She'll say, "I just want to stay in and practice my swimming"! It's great. Today she was working on her front float, which she can hold for a good 3 seconds!!! Not bad for a kid who would NOT put her face in the water for the last 4 years!!!

Today we were very busy having fun. This morning we went to the Children's Museum of Phoenix. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it. So much to do and see. We took Grandpa since he hadn't been and he had a great time.
Then this afternoon we went to the pool for some fun...in and out of the water!

Something fishy

Today was another beautiful day...probably the last one before summer makes it's grand entrance. We spent the morning at Desert Breeze. There was fishing, playing, feeding ducks, picnic lunch and lots and lots of fresh air. Fun family memories just spending time together. Love days like these.
