Today Sammie had her first day of preschool. It was a shortened day that parents go to. It was fun. She decorated her placemat, played with toys, had storytime, sang songs, and played on the playground. We can't wait for Monday...the first real day. I can't believe at this time next year I will have to send her to Kindergarten...I'll probably cry and she'll say "see ya!" Decorating her placemat. Playing a game at storytime. Puzzles. Ready for school!!!
Today we had a nice surprise. Christina, Camille and Diego came over for a visit. Sammie loves playing Camille and vice versa, I think because they both have little brothers. They were both excited to have someone to play school with:) Cole took a while to warm up but by the end of the visit was running around laughing and playing hide and seek. It's so fun to watch our kids grow up. I remember when Camille and Diego were Sammie and Cole's age....crazy. Thanks for coming over Avilas-we loved seeing you.
Four cuties sitting in a row... I had to bribe them with candy to get a picture! Silly faces. Goofballs.
All of the sudden Cole has turned into a full time toddler. He is everywhere all the time and is talking up a storm. My new favorite thing that he does/says is: when he is walking by someone and can't get around he says "excuse you" instead of excuse me. It's pretty funny.
Another fun weekend in Walker was had last weekend. We're headed up again this weekend. Highs of 65-75 degrees and rain! Ahhh, so nice. The excitement this weekend was Grandpa showed up with his new puppy. He's really cute, but I am glad he's not ours. I told my dad that must be what it's like to have grandkids...you love them, think they're adorable and are glad you don't have to take care of them! Ha! So greatful to have this wonderful sanctuary away from the heat and hustle bustle of Phx. My favorite memory from last weekend-Peter and Cole were napping and Sammie and I went and sat on the back porch of the cabin that overlooks a mountainside and she turned to me and said,"Mommy, isn't is beautiful?" Yes Sammie it is!!! This is WHY we go up north! Our handsome fellow. He stirred the dog water with a stick for quite a while. Cheap entertainment. The newest member of the family... Gpa's new puppy Jake. He is SO snuggly and adorable. He's jumpy and licky though so the kids weren't so sure they loved him yet.
