The rest of our time was spent mostly at the cabin and Lynx Lake (Where I caught my first fish as a child!). Peter and I were just cracking up at how much things changed from last summer to this...last summer Sammer was not a fan of mule rides (the quad-like 4-wheeler), did not want to play on the tire swing and wasn't really into adventured out in the forest. This time-was begging to go on the mule, tried the tire swing and LOVED it and couldn't have enjoyed the outdoors more. It was so awesome. It's fun watching the kids love the place I have so many memories of!
Fishing was a big bust, no fish-but tons of fun. Lots of ducks, dragonflies, a blue heron and "diver duck"-a black duck that kept going under and back up again the entire time we were there. It was entertaining to watch him.
I almost forgot-another big excitememnt of the weekend-Grandpa bought a smoker! Peter was REALLY excited about this. Sunday night we had smoked ribs and Monday night we smoked a turkey. It was pretty yummy! I'm sure I'll be eating more smoked meats as the summer goes on...:)
