Like father like son

Cole is getting quite the funny, little personality. He is changing so fast. It was like the day he turned one he kicked it up a notch!
Yesterday was a big night...he ate steak! We have had a hard time getting him to eat meat. The other night he tried some hamburger and liked it and last night we had rib-eyes. Who wouldn't love that?! Samantha loves steak and turned to Peter during dinner and said, "Thanks for the steak daddy." I love that!
Then, Peter was watching Fox news and Cole grabbed the remote from him and turned the channel to some Love of BBQ show. Looks like he is going to be like his daddy in more ways than one! (That's good with me:)
Cole-we love love you. Thanks for bringing so much laughter into this house.

It's a fun life

I noticed that I haven't blogged in a while so I took some random pictures to show you how fun our life is around here.
Sammie has been really into her babies lately. Baucula (her favorite baby-who is actually supposed to be a boy) is her favorite. She has been sleeping with her, taking her with us everywhere and insisting that we feed her. She sits in the booster. Sammie says, "It's a good thing we have a highchair for Cole mom"!
The pool has also been a big hit this summer-for obvious reasons: it's hot and the pool is just plain fun!
Today Peter went digging in the garage and pulled out his OLD Sega genesis!!!! Blast from the past. Sammie thought it was pretty fun. Cole liked the controller!
It's a fun life!

Check out the screen:Cedric Caballos!!!

Nothing like some good old fashioned competition:)

Ana Banana

After a week of vacation and two rounds of being sick and housebound, Sammie was ready for some quality friend time. So Ana came over this morning and played, and played and played! The girls had such a good time and were so sweet with each other. Susan and I keep saying we can't hardly believe we are at the stage where the girls can go play by themselves and there aren't any brawls. It's great!
Thanks Ana for coming over and playing. And thanks Susan for the yummy lunch. Let's do this again SOON!!!

First the girls got dressed up (of course). Then
we built a fort (castle) to play in. Then they decorated
Sammer's room with ribbons!

A little down time with a movie.

All snuggled up.

Chill...

Look who's up from his nap! Wowza!

Entertaining

Yesterday was a great day. Sammie and Cole played beautifully together and it was just a sweet thing to see.
Sammie shared her lolipop with Cole, who apparently loves them! Then after lunch Samantha transformed our floor mat into a boat and sailed all over the house. She was sliding it all around the house as Cole chased behind her. It is so entertaining to watch them play "together".

Wanna lick Cole?

I know we have lots of cool toys but let's play
in this awesome highchair fort!

It's a boat!

Here comes the boat, watch out!

Another fun visit with Nana

Nana came out to visit and celebrate Cole's first birthday. It was a fun visit, in spite of the fact that most of her visit the kids were sick. Nana was a trooper though and a great help. The kids got better and Peter and I even got to go on a date last night! The kids had a blast and were very good for her:)
We miss you Nana. Sammie said on the car ride home from the airport, "Mommy, I miss Nana already". Ugh, tear my heart out! So cute.
See you in November Nana. We love you!

Wrangling kiddos on the couch!

Reading, yes that's a Kendall (sp?) Sammie could
operate it by the end of the week!!!

Look how big he is!

Nana and her band. Yesterday there
was a concert...everyone had an
instrument and marched around the
house! It was quite the scene.
