Mailman Cole

Apparently we need to get this kid some "guy" dress up clothes! Ha! I don't know about you but our mailman does wear pants, doesn't have a bonnet and no wand either! But he's also not as cute!

Father's Day

What says Happy Father's Day better than backyard fun? We love you Peter and think you're the best dad in the world, so glad you're ours!

Retreat

This last weekend I went on a weekend getaway with my good friend Mary. Her sister has a "cabin" up in Pinetop Lakeside. Although, it's more like a beautiful house than a cabin.
We had a great time. Sleeping, long drives, ski lift, hikes, drinks, quiet, fresh pine air and much more. Here is just some of what we were up to...

Mary and I.

The cabin.

This is when Mary was calling her sister because she
FORGOT THE KEY!!! Luckily the reality office up the
street had a spare (we got there within 10 min of them
closing!)

We drove up to sunrise to ride the ski lift and
in the way we saw a herd of deer. There were
about 30! It was amazing.

Had to take a pic of the ski lift so that I could
show Sammer.

The view from the top of sunrise.
We just sat here and stared for a
long time. SO beautiful.

I love how this tree looks like it's

pointing to the cloud!

Here we are at the top.
This is where we had some fun the first night.
And the sign is no joke....the wineburger was
outstanding! Best burger I've ever had.
Enjoying some scenery.
Look, a tree!
And rocks!
This stream looks like it's flowing right to the big tree. Love it.

Painted

Cole saw me painting Sammie toes this morning an I guess it gave him the idea... and read his shirt! Ha! So appropriate!

Cabin in the woods

This weekend we went up to Grandpa's cabin in Prescott. We have gone up before but never for a whole weekend. The last time we tried Sammie was Cole's age and WOULD NOT sleep. Not in the pack'n play, not in the bed, not anywhere so we ended up packing it up and driving home in the middle of the night and I was done.
Well, happy to say, this time was nothing like that. Kids slept great (they were up with the sun at 5:00-but slept!), played with cousins, went for rides on Gpa's mule (vehicle-not animal!!!) We had a fabulous time and plan on spending some serious time up there this summer.
Some highlights: Sammie and Cole going on rides in the mule, seeing Sammer play with her cousins Maddy and Vivian, Cole looking for bears in the forest, hikes, finding lizards, listening to Sammie snore all night long, hunting pinecones, and looking at the night sky in complete darkness.
I hope that we can create some great memories for Sammie and Cole. I have such great memories of playing up at my grandparents cabin, playing with cousins, family dinners, riding horses, good times.
Here are just SOME of the pictures I took:)
